MEET THE TEAM: Benton Johnson

We’d like to introduce you to the newest face in our public relations department – Benton!
He’s an account executive who came to us from KARE-11. Here’s a little bit more about Benton:

Since you are our newest hire, what do you want everyone to know about you?
Like any good vegan, I must start by telling you that I’m vegan. Ha! But actually, a little bit about me. When I’m not working, I enjoy running, kayaking, swimming, traveling, watching the Patriots, restoring furniture, gardening, volunteering and taking care of my cat, Cash.

What brought you to Nemer Fieger?
I came to Nemer Fieger after working in the news world. I made the switch because I needed to get away from all the depressing news stories.

Tell us about a great vacation you have taken?
Nothing beats spending time at our cabin in Ottertail County – but one of my favorite vacations was Cabo San Lucas. We went as a family for Christmas, and it was the most relaxing, yet adventurous experiences. Snorkeling, jet skiing and boat cruises. Oh, and maybe a little tequila.

If you weren’t working in the publicity business, what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t doing this, I would want to combine my love of travel and background in journalism somehow. Maybe work as travel host for a television show or a travel writer/blogger. I’ve always wanted to drop everything and travel the country in a RV.

Given a choice of anyone, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
My top choice for a dinner guest would have to be Oprah Winfrey. I remember rushing home from elementary school to watch her show. She has always been one of my biggest role models.

Who were you in high school?
I was busier in high school than any other time in my life! During the school year I was in football, track, pop singers, choir, band, jazz band, men’s ensemble, and was class president. During the summers I worked as a lifeguard and taught swimming lessons. But my mom will tell you, I still had plenty of time for parties.
