One of the joys of promoting our clients’ events is seeing the results – increases in attendance and a solid ROI. And sometimes you have a client with a different objective, as was the case recently when we worked on Minnesota Remembers Vietnam, an initiative of Twin Cities PBS – TPT. For four days, The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale mobile replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. was set-up at the Minnesota State Capitol grounds. The Wall That Heals exhibit was free and open to the public 24 hours each day, allowing Minnesotans the opportunity to remember, honor, understand and heal at their own pace.

We handled the media buying and publicity for the exhibit, to great success. Our efforts garnered TV coverage on all the local television news stations, front page coverage in both daily newspapers, plenty of PSAs and added value opportunities negotiated during media buys.

Our client was very pleased with the results – the amount of media coverage as well as the large number of visitors who stopped by The Wall That Heals to find the names of their loved ones and spend time in reflection. Here’s what our TPT contact had to say:

My heartfelt thanks and congratulations on the work Nemer Fieger did to promote the four day event The Wall That Heals. We received our attendance estimates from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund and they estimated attendance was 14,190 guests over the weekend!  That is amazing and is what we were hoping for. I owe that all to your efforts – we never could have achieved that level of exposure on our own. THANK YOU!!!!

While we love working on all of our entertainment-focused client events, this opportunity with TPT and The Wall That Heals really gave us a pause and a gentle nudge to be grateful for other’s sacrifice.
