We all like hanging with friends, and we all like getting together for special occasions, right?

Our special occasion was the 26th annual JDRF One Walk at MOA on Saturday, February 24, and we shared it with 22,000 of our closest friends. I have been the Nemer Fieger One Walk Team Captain for three years and our team fundraises to help create a world without type 1 diabetes by walking for one hour.

The 2018 JDRF One Walk has raised $1.55M so far to benefit critical research that will turn type one into type none. As a T1D myself for 19 years, I have been fortunate to be a research benefactor in a clinical trial for the “artificial pancreas” – the new Medtronic 670G closed loop insulin pump. This is one of the most significant diabetes management breakthroughs and funded in part by JDRF.

The support and participation from Nemer Fieger has helped create a larger footprint in the Twin Cities and in the lives of many T1Ds. Over the last three years, we have had 22 team members participate in the One Walk and contributed over $4,200.00 to my passionate cause.

It’s what close friends do.
