WHAT’S HAPPENING: GREAT WOLF LODGE MINNESOTA
We’ve mentioned our love for events before (probably several times, actually) and it rings true. The thousands of details and the ever-changing process keeps us on our toes and always brainstorming ways to kick things up a notch. We get especially excited when we are part of a grand opening, and that’s exactly what we did this week when Great Wolf Lodge Minnesota splashed into town.
Great Wolf Lodge is North America’s largest family of indoor waterpark resorts, and just opened their first Minnesota location next to Mall of America. Some of the many features of the resort include a 75,000-square foot indoor water park, an adventure park, 404 suites and eight dining options.
Nemer Fieger was hired to conduct media relations for the resort’s grand opening in Bloomington. After weeks of pitching media and hosting preview events, we secured coverage on several major news outlets including all four television stations, plus Univision and The CW Twin Cities, Star Tribune, Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal, Mpls. St. Paul Magazine, Minnesota Monthly, WCCO-AM radio, and many others for the actual Grand Opening Ceremony on December 12, 2017. We also reached out to social media influencers and were pleased to have a dozen of them attend the grand opening and post a follow-up to their fans.
While it’s too soon to have hard facts such as the total number of viewer and reader impressions, we can report back that Great Wolf Lodge’s General Manager and CEO were visibly pleased with Nemer Fieger’s media relations skills and the collection of TV and print coverage that followed. While it’s the kind of work we do frequently around here, we never quite get tired of the thrill of watching our client’s grand opening become a terrific success story.
