CLIENT PROJECT PROFILE: Emma Norton
Today I’d like to walk you through some work we are doing for our client Emma Norton. Emma Norton is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides safe, affordable housing, basic needs and support services for homeless women and families facing the challenges of mental illness and chemical dependency. Emma Norton fosters stability and encourages personal growth via two locations:
Emma Norton Residences offers permanent housing and support for single women working to achieve stability and wellness. The second location, Emma’s Place, offers permanent housing and support for homeless families with three or more children.
It’s clear that Emma Norton was doing fantastic things for our community, but they needed to increase their brand recognition throughout the state, so they could expand their services and help even more women and families. Another critical need was creating a call to action to attract potential donors and volunteers.
To meet these goals, Nemer Fieger began working with Emma Norton on several projects, such as:
• Development of a new logo and tagline: The new Emma Norton logo uses an open door to identify the start of a client journey. Passing through an open door invites the hope and support that Emma Norton provides. Once through the door, the journey takes a personal or individual interpretation, just like each client, that will determine how the journey takes families home. The new tagline communicates this: The Journey Home Begins Here. • Creation of identity pieces, a style guide, and a brochure reflecting their new brand
• Media relations and the development of creative pieces for Emma Norton’s Voices for Victory fundraiser
• Media relations and creative design for Orange Door Day (a volunteer project focused on remodeling the residence rooms)
• Publicity for the nonprofit’s 100th anniversary, and staff promotions
Since many of these projects are still in the works, we don’t yet have results of the impact of our work, with the exception of Emma Norton’s annual Voices for Victory fundraiser. Held in October, the event celebrated victory over homelessness and featured personal stories from residents. The evening showcased the impact Emma Norton has had on them and the community over the last 100 years. Thanks to the generosity of event donors, Emma Norton raised over $42,000, and since the Schulze Family Foundation matched that, the grand total was over $87,200.
We love what we do here at Nemer Fieger, and doing this kind of work delivers an impact that stays with us long after the project is complete.
